Logical Buildings, in partnership with Sustainable Westchester, presented a $70,678 GridRewards check to the City School District of New Rochelle for its exceptional leadership in demand response and energy reduction!

The school district nearly tripled its earnings from the previous summer, with 11 facilities participating across 7 demand response events, reducing energy use by nearly 1MW—equivalent to taking 1,000 homes off the grid!

For the school district’s Facilities Director Keith Watkins, the writing is literally on the wall - this check will be hung up in his office next to the 2024 check for $23,943. Thanks to the schools' hard work, Watkins is able “to come in every day, look at those checks, and say ’Wow, we’re really making a difference.’”

We’re incredibly inspired by the students of New Rochelle High School’s Green Club, who spoke at the event and have been instrumental in driving local sustainability efforts. Their dedication to GridRewards has led to New Rochelle having the most signups of any town in Westchester! By engaging parents and the community in energy reduction, these students are proving that the next generation of leaders in sustainability is already making an impact.
